Description
The 3D Printing course at Capstone EdTech is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals and advanced applications of additive manufacturing technology. This program bridges theoretical knowledge with practical industry applications, enabling students to design, prototype, and manufacture real-world products.
Students will gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling software, slicing tools, and 3D printers while understanding the science behind materials, design optimization, and rapid prototyping. The course is ideal for school students, PU/degree students, and engineering aspirants who want to explore innovation, product design, and manufacturing technologies.
This course aligns with our mission of making students industry-ready by equipping them with practical skills used in engineering, architecture, healthcare, automotive, and product development industries.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the fundamentals of additive manufacturing and its industry applications.
- Differentiate between various 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.).
- Create 3D models using CAD software.
- Convert 3D models into printable files using slicing software.
- Operate and maintain a 3D printer safely.
- Select appropriate materials (PLA, ABS, Resin, etc.) based on project requirements.
- Troubleshoot common printing errors and optimize print quality.
- Develop a functional prototype as a capstone project.
